Haar eerste album dat Sylvie Lewis uitbrengt sinds 2015, Lives Wisely, heeft een verzameling liedjes geschreven in een boog die zich uitstrekt van v\u00f3\u00f3r het moederschap in Itali\u00eb en eindigt in het post-pandemische Groot-Brittanni\u00eb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">In die tijd verloor Sylvie een dierbare vriend en oude producer Richard Swift en wist niet waar ze terecht kon voor deze opname. Gelukkig had ze Jonah Tolchin in Brighton ontmoet terwijl hij op tournee was met wederzijdse vriendin Dawn Landes. Hoewel zij merkte dat hij tijdens de pandemie gitaarles aan gaf, was dat op dat moment voor Sylvie onmogelijk omdat ze alleen thuis was met haar 3-jarige zoon. Toen de pandemie echter begon over te waaien en een aantal oude routines werden hervat, nam ze contact op met Jonah om lessen te krijgen en het paar besloot snel samen te werken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">Jonah trok vervolgens met Joe Harvey-Whyte aan boord als coproducent die aanwezig zou zijn in de Karma Studios in Londen, terwijl Jonah tijdens de sessies virtueel aanwezig was vanuit zijn basis in New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"567\" height=\"756\" src=\"https:\/\/duivenstraat.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/Sylvie-Lewis-4-photo-by-Astrid-Williamson.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/duivenstraat.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/Sylvie-Lewis-4-photo-by-Astrid-Williamson.png 567w, https:\/\/duivenstraat.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/Sylvie-Lewis-4-photo-by-Astrid-Williamson-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 567px) 100vw, 567px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Foto: Astrid Williamson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">Sylvie schrijft al heel lang liedjes, om te leren en te verbeteren, zowel in het schrijfvak als in het leven. Ze heeft ook uitgebreid meegeschreven, een gewoonte waarmee ze in Nashville begon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">&#8216;Call Me When it Rains (Mike&#8217;s Song)&#8217; gaat over haar luistervriend Mike, die ze altijd belde als het rommelde. Bij het horen van het lied hij vroeg brutaal of ze &#8220;Mike&#8217;s song&#8221; tussen haakjes achter de titel wilde zetten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\u2018Famous to Me\u2019 is een titel die Sylvie al jaren in haar hoofd hield en toen ze niet aan de slag kon, was Jude Johnstone de enige co-schrijver met wie zij wilde meewerken om het op te lossen. Jude had een aantal writer&#8217;s block-problemen en dit nummer trok haar eruit! Het viert de onbezongen helden die helder schijnen in elk van onze levens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\u2018More Lies Than Christmas\u2019 ontstond toen Sylvie giechelde om een \u200b\u200bkerstliedje te schrijven. Het is het spiegelbeeldnummer van \u2018We Belong to Summer\u2019 en gaat in feite over dezelfde persoon. De twee nummers zijn met elkaar in balans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\u2018You Give Silence a Bad Name\u2019 werd enkele jaren geleden samen met Marit Larsen geschreven in het. Sylvie werd getroffen door de gewoonte van Marit Larsen die populair is geworden. Vooral in een zakelijke omgeving vond ze het vreemd. Het gebruik van stilte in plaats van \u2018nee\u2019 lijkt verdrietig, lui en ruggengraatloos. Het is echt een liedje voor haarzelf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\u2018Ordinary\u2019 was een van de eerste nummers die Sylvie op gewone gitaar schreef en tot nu toe nooit heeft opgenomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--10)\">\u2018Make You Love\u2019 is als een ansichtkaart van uit 1940 tot nu. Was het maar aannemelijk om op die manier verleidelijk te zijn en toch liefde te winnen. Het deuntje lijkt op een klein fossiel dat Sylvie heeft opgegraven uit een tijd die niet meer bestaat.
